Description
WWII Aircraft Instrument - USAAF 3 1/8" Type C-2 Rate of Climb / Vertical Speed
One nice wartime Type C-2 Rate of Climb / Vertical Speed Indicator that would've been found in the trainers, big bombers or transports during WWII.
Healthy data plate on the unit is on the rear of the instrument and it's identified as:
TYPE C-2
SERIAL NO. AC-42-7570
SPEC. NO. 94-27967-A
ORDER NO. AC-26969
PATENT NO. 2215448
PATENTED CANADA 1937
KOLLSMAN INSTRUMENT DIVISION
SQUARE D COMPANY
ELMHURST, NEW YORK
Nice long metal case 3 1/8" instrument. Minimal mustard colored markings with a super bright and most likely a RADIUM back face on the bank indicator cylinder. Looks like the mid-war unit with the black plastic ball. I don't see any dirt or bugs or moisture invasion signs behind the glass but the pointer needle has paint cracking. This is a nice one. Early contract date and style. A little paint removed on the front of the instrument case at 10-11 o'clock position. Odd.
Nice pressure driven instrument. I see no drop damage or mods to this one. Of course, this is sold as a panel-filler or a core and we have NOT tested the unit. No paperwork or tags included with this unit.
Ships cheapest via USPS Ground Advantage or FedEx Ground unless you direct otherwise. Questions? Please ask seller. And thanks for looking!
