Description
The Gentex 6015-1 is an electro-acoustic communication interface unit designed for military aviation aircrew. Used with the AERPS/AR-5 system, it interfaces with the aircrew helmet communication system to support communication between the pilot and other crew members. Features include selectable talk/listen, listen-only, and hardwire operating modes. In talk/listen mode, the pilot can speak through the mask microphone while hearing crew communications through the helmet earphones. The listen-only mode allows the pilot to hear crew communications while keeping the pilot's microphone muted. The hardwire mode supports operation in high-noise environments when a second helmet is connected through the auxiliary communications connector.
