The aircraft was designed
for safe low-altitude flight from unprepared surfaces.

The
Cloudster is constructed of wood and covered in aircraft fabric. The landing
gear is conventional, with sprung main legs and a tailwheel. The wing is braced
with two parallel main legs and auxiliary legs on each side. Available engines
include a liquid-cooled Kawasaki 340-LC producing 35 hp (26 kW), a Half VW
producing 45 hp (34 kW), and several Rotax and Cuyuna engines. The designer's
recommended power range is 28 to 40 hp (21 to 30 kW).

Due to the
labor-intensive wood and fabric construction, the kit's assembly time is
estimated at 400 man-hours. The kit can be ordered as a single kit or as multiple
individual kits.

The Pop's
Props Cloudster is a single-seat, single-engine, open-cockpit, parasol-wing
monoplane that first flew in 1995. The aircraft was manufactured by Pop's Props
of Cooksville, Illinois, and sold as plans or as a kit. The company is now out
of business.

The
aircraft was designed for the FAR 103 ultralight category, including the
category's 254-pound (115 kg) empty weight limit. The Cloudster's standard
empty weight is 250 pounds (113 kg).
